CHICKEN
Left-Overs!
Left-Overs!
Often we have leftovers, and do not know what to do with them, and they just go to waste. Here are some recipes and ideas!

Usually there is plenty of meat left over from a braai! Here are some ideas that you can use for chicken or beef!

Prego Rolls

If you slice your meat into strips it goes a long way and it is easier to eat on a roll!

Butter rolls, fry onions, add some prei-peri (or you can make your own prego sauce) and you can even add some tomato. Put it all on a roll and there you have it!

A Left-Overs Prego Roll!

Stir-Fry

Again, Slice meat into strips.

Cook some egg noodles or 2 minute noodles.

Fry some onions along with a few spices of your choice.
I would recommend salt, pepper, corriander, aniseed and cardamom if you don't already have a mix that you like.

Add some vegetables of your choice such as peppers, mangetout, carrots etc. and if you want to, add some nuts and seeds.

When your vegetables are cooked but still firm and some Soya Sauce, your strips of meat, and your noodles!

Breakfast Tortilla

This one is quite simple. You can either make your own tortillas or you can buy them already made.

Make some scrambled eggs and a salsa of tomato, onion, vinegar and herbs.

Fry some bacon and heat up your left-over meat.

Wrap everything up in your tortilla and breakfast is served! best replica watches

You can also serve your salsa as a side dish instead of putting it in the tortilla.

Bacon and Cheese Thingies

What you need:

yes1 tablespoon butter
yes½ cup finely chopped onions
yes6 large eggs
yes2 cups milk
yes1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
yesSalt and Pepper
yes1 tablespoon parsley
yes2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
yes1 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
yes2 ½ muffins, crumbled (buy 2 from P&P)

What you do:

smileyPreheat the oven to 180. Grease 2 muffin pans.  smiley In a small pan melt the butter over medium
heat and cook the onion until tender.   smileySet aside.   smileyIn a large bowl, whisk together the
eggs, milk, chives, pepper & seasoning.  smileyStir in the cheese, crumbled bacon and crumbled muffins.
smiley Add in the cooked onions.  smiley I used a 1/3 cup measuring cup to fill the muffin pan.
     This filled each cup perfectly.
smileyBake for 20 - 22 minutes. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes.
smileyI ran a flexible metal spatula around the edges for easy removal.

Bread Roll Idea:

smileyMake pasta and mince - your own recipe.
smileyBuy some fresh Portuguese rolls
smileyHolow them out
smileySpoon a bit of tomato sauce into the rolls
smileyStuff them real good with the pasta and mince mix.

It tastes great, and beause the rolls are not cut open, the filling won't fall out when you eat it.

Good Ol' Date Balls

What you need:

yes½ Cup butter
yes1 teaspoon vanilla essence
yes1 Cup dates – cut into small pieces
yes½ Cup brown sugar
yes1 egg, beaten
yes1 packet Marie biscuits, finely crushed
yesDesiccated coconut
Why?  Because date balls are very filling, rich in
neutrients and can be kept outside the fridge.  Make
enough for everyone to snack on during the holiday!

smileyCombine the dates, butter, vanilla and sugar in a small pot.
smileyCook over a low heat until well mixed and soft.
smileyAllow to cool slightly, add the beaten egg and crushed biscuits, blend well.
smileyShape into small balls by hand, roll in coconut.
smileyI vacuum pack them.  If you have space in the fridge, put them there.  If not, keep them out of the
sun - or the will melt.

Marshmellow/Rice Krispies and

Pad Kos
KINDERS KOM KOOK!
KINDERS KOM KOOK!

       Kinders - ag toe man,

           kook tog ietsie!

Onthou tog net: warm goed brand!

Awesome – jyt brekvis gemaak so jys Superman of Superwoman vir die dag!

  • Kaas – gerasper of sommer in klein blokkies gesny

  • Melk

  • Ham – sny die ham in stukkies

  • Botter
